GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The manufacture of electricity meters by meter manufacturers under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Energy Auditor, the Government of Gujarat, after careful examination, hereby orders that every meter manufacturer carrying on the manufacture of electricity meters shall furnish Form VIII to the State Commission within one hundred and twenty days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every meter manufacturer carrying on the manufacture of electricity meters shall make an application in Form VIII to the State Commission within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the manufacture of electricity meters is undertaken, and the State Commission shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Gujarat.
