GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The provision of a social media service by social media intermediaries under the Kerala Police Act, 2011, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Controller of Certifying Authorities, the Government of Kerala, after careful examination, hereby orders that every social media intermediary carrying on the provision of a social media service shall furnish Form B to the Data Protection Board within thirty days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every social media intermediary carrying on the provision of a social media service shall make an application in Form B to the Data Protection Board within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the provision of a social media service is undertaken, and the Data Protection Board shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of Kerala.
