GOVERNMENT ORDER
Subject: The drawing of water from a river by riparian owners under the Tamil Nadu Groundwater (Development and Management) Act, 2003, regarding.
1. In the circumstances reported by the Assistant Engineer, the Government of Tamil Nadu, after careful examination, hereby orders that every riparian owner carrying on the drawing of water from a river shall furnish Form H to the Canal Officer within seven days.
2. The matter has been examined. Every riparian owner carrying on the drawing of water from a river shall make an application in Form H to the Canal Officer within seven days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the drawing of water from a river is undertaken, and the Canal Officer shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
