GOVERNMENT ORDER
Subject: The cultivation of hemp under licence by cultivators of hemp under the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909, regarding.
1. In the circumstances reported by the Circle Inspector of Excise, the Government of West Bengal, after careful examination, hereby orders that every cultivator of hemp carrying on the cultivation of hemp under licence shall furnish Form D to the Deputy Commissioner of Excise within forty-five days.
2. The matter has been examined. Every cultivator of hemp carrying on the cultivation of hemp under licence shall make an application in Form D to the Deputy Commissioner of Excise within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the cultivation of hemp under licence is undertaken, and the Deputy Commissioner of Excise shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of West Bengal.
