Chennai, dated the 6th February, 2014

GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The plying of a contract carriage by owners of a contract carriage under the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1974, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the registering authority, the Government of Tamil Nadu, after careful examination, hereby orders that every owner of a contract carriage carrying on the plying of a contract carriage shall furnish Form 29 to the Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal within forty-five days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a contract carriage carrying on the plying of a contract carriage shall make an application in Form 29 to the Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the plying of a contract carriage is undertaken, and the Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
