GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The placement of children in adoption by specialised adoption agencies under the Karnataka Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1982, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Probation Officer, the Government of Karnataka, after careful examination, hereby orders that every specialised adoption agency carrying on the placement of children in adoption shall furnish Form VIII to the Child Welfare Committee within ninety days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every specialised adoption agency carrying on the placement of children in adoption shall make an application in Form VIII to the Child Welfare Committee within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the placement of children in adoption is undertaken, and the Child Welfare Committee shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Karnataka.
