Mumbai, dated the 27th June, 2011

GOVERNMENT RESOLUTION

Subject: The engagement of apprentices by employers of apprentices under the Bombay Industrial Relations Act, 1946, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Labour Inspector, the Government of Maharashtra, after careful examination, hereby orders that every employer of apprentices carrying on the engagement of apprentices shall furnish Form VII to the Labour Commissioner within ninety days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every employer of apprentices carrying on the engagement of apprentices shall make an application in Form VII to the Labour Commissioner within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the engagement of apprentices is undertaken, and the Labour Commissioner shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government resolution may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Maharashtra.
