GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The keeping of a sarai by keepers of a sarai under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the officer in charge of a police station, the Government of Tamil Nadu, after careful examination, hereby orders that every keeper of a sarai carrying on the keeping of a sarai shall furnish Form V to the Government of Tamil Nadu within fifteen days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of a sarai carrying on the keeping of a sarai shall make an application in Form V to the Government of Tamil Nadu within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the keeping of a sarai is undertaken, and the Government of Tamil Nadu shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
