GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The execution of works for a Panchayat by contractors engaged by a Panchayat under the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad, the Government of Tamil Nadu, after careful examination, hereby orders that every contractor engaged by a Panchayat carrying on the execution of works for a Panchayat shall furnish Form 8 to the Director of Panchayats within twenty-one days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contractor engaged by a Panchayat carrying on the execution of works for a Panchayat shall make an application in Form 8 to the Director of Panchayats within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the execution of works for a Panchayat is undertaken, and the Director of Panchayats shall dispose of it within twenty-one days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
