GOVERNMENT ORDER
Subject: The drawing of water from a river by riparian owners under the Bengal Irrigation Act, 1876, regarding.
1. In the circumstances reported by the Assistant Engineer, the Government of West Bengal, after careful examination, hereby orders that every riparian owner carrying on the drawing of water from a river shall furnish Form A to the Ground Water Authority within one hundred and twenty days.
2. The matter has been examined. Every riparian owner carrying on the drawing of water from a river shall make an application in Form A to the Ground Water Authority within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the drawing of water from a river is undertaken, and the Ground Water Authority shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of West Bengal.
