GOVERNMENT ORDER
Subject: The collection of Panchayat taxes by collectors of a Panchayat tax under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, regarding.
1. In the circumstances reported by the Block Development Officer, the Government of West Bengal, after careful examination, hereby orders that every collector of a Panchayat tax carrying on the collection of Panchayat taxes shall furnish Form 4 to the Gram Panchayat within fifteen days.
2. The matter has been examined. Every collector of a Panchayat tax carrying on the collection of Panchayat taxes shall make an application in Form 4 to the Gram Panchayat within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the collection of Panchayat taxes is undertaken, and the Gram Panchayat shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of West Bengal.
