GOVERNMENT RESOLUTION

Subject: Service on a ship by seamen under the Maharashtra Maritime Board Act, 1996, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Registrar of Inland Vessels, the Government of Maharashtra, after careful examination, hereby orders that every seaman carrying on service on a ship shall furnish Form 8 to the Maritime Board within seven days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every seaman carrying on service on a ship shall make an application in Form 8 to the Maritime Board within seven days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which service on a ship is undertaken, and the Maritime Board shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government resolution may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Maharashtra.
