GOVERNMENT RESOLUTION

Subject: The running of a private hostel by operators of a hostel for tenants under the Maharashtra Ownership Flats (Regulation of the Promotion of Construction, Sale, Management and Transfer) Act, 1963, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Housing Commissioner, the Government of Maharashtra, after careful examination, hereby orders that every operator of a hostel for tenants carrying on the running of a private hostel shall furnish Form B to the Rent Authority within seven days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a hostel for tenants carrying on the running of a private hostel shall make an application in Form B to the Rent Authority within seven days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a private hostel is undertaken, and the Rent Authority shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government resolution may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra.
