GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The employment of women entitled to maternity benefit by employers of a maternity beneficiary under the Tamil Nadu Manual Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Work) Act, 1982, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Social Security Officer, the Government of Tamil Nadu, after careful examination, hereby orders that every employer of a maternity beneficiary carrying on the employment of women entitled to maternity benefit shall furnish Form 12 to the Medical Benefit Council within seven days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every employer of a maternity beneficiary carrying on the employment of women entitled to maternity benefit shall make an application in Form 12 to the Medical Benefit Council within seven days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the employment of women entitled to maternity benefit is undertaken, and the Medical Benefit Council shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
