GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The execution of works for a Panchayat by contractors engaged by a Panchayat under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Extension Officer, the Government of West Bengal, after careful examination, hereby orders that every contractor engaged by a Panchayat carrying on the execution of works for a Panchayat shall furnish Form 8 to the Zila Parishad within forty-five days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contractor engaged by a Panchayat carrying on the execution of works for a Panchayat shall make an application in Form 8 to the Zila Parishad within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the execution of works for a Panchayat is undertaken, and the Zila Parishad shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of West Bengal.
