GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The placement of children in adoption by specialised adoption agencies under the Karnataka Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1982, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Protection Officer, the Government of Karnataka, after careful examination, hereby orders that every specialised adoption agency carrying on the placement of children in adoption shall furnish Form V to the Juvenile Justice Board within forty-five days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every specialised adoption agency carrying on the placement of children in adoption shall make an application in Form V to the Juvenile Justice Board within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the placement of children in adoption is undertaken, and the Juvenile Justice Board shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Karnataka.
