GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The provision of direct-to-home broadcasting services by direct-to-home operators under the Tamil Nadu Exhibition of Films on Television Screen through Video Cassette Recorders (Regulation) Act, 1984, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Authorised Officer, the Government of Tamil Nadu, after careful examination, hereby orders that every direct-to-home operator carrying on the provision of direct-to-home broadcasting services shall furnish Form VIII to the Press Council within sixty days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every direct-to-home operator carrying on the provision of direct-to-home broadcasting services shall make an application in Form VIII to the Press Council within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the provision of direct-to-home broadcasting services is undertaken, and the Press Council shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
