GOVERNMENT ORDER
Subject: The extraction of ground water by person drawing ground waters under the Bengal Irrigation Act, 1876, regarding.
1. In the circumstances reported by the Irrigation Inspector, the Government of West Bengal, after careful examination, hereby orders that every person drawing ground water carrying on the extraction of ground water shall furnish Form E to the Government of West Bengal within one hundred and twenty days.
2. The matter has been examined. Every person drawing ground water carrying on the extraction of ground water shall make an application in Form E to the Government of West Bengal within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the extraction of ground water is undertaken, and the Government of West Bengal shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of West Bengal.
