GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The taking of mortgages by mortgagees under the Karnataka Stamp Act, 1957, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Inspector of Stamps, the Government of Karnataka, after careful examination, hereby orders that every mortgagee carrying on the taking of mortgages shall furnish Form H to the District Registrar within seven days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every mortgagee carrying on the taking of mortgages shall make an application in Form H to the District Registrar within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the taking of mortgages is undertaken, and the District Registrar shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Karnataka.
