GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The management of a waqf by mutawallis under the Tamil Nadu Registration of Marriages Act, 2009, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Registrar of Births and Deaths, the Government of Tamil Nadu, after careful examination, hereby orders that every mutawalli carrying on the management of a waqf shall furnish Form V to the District Registrar within one hundred and twenty days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every mutawalli carrying on the management of a waqf shall make an application in Form V to the District Registrar within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the management of a waqf is undertaken, and the District Registrar shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
