GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The treatment of sewage by operators of a sewage treatment plant under the Bengal Irrigation Act, 1876, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Divisional Canal Officer, the Government of West Bengal, after careful examination, hereby orders that every operator of a sewage treatment plant carrying on the treatment of sewage shall furnish Form G to the Canal Officer within forty-five days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a sewage treatment plant carrying on the treatment of sewage shall make an application in Form G to the Canal Officer within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the treatment of sewage is undertaken, and the Canal Officer shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Education Department, Government of West Bengal.
