Chennai, dated the 15th April, 2011

GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The sale of court fee stamps by stamp vendors under the Tamil Nadu Court Fees and Suits Valuation Act, 1955, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Nazir, the Government of Tamil Nadu, after careful examination, hereby orders that every stamp vendor carrying on the sale of court fee stamps shall furnish Form C to the Taxing Officer within thirty days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every stamp vendor carrying on the sale of court fee stamps shall make an application in Form C to the Taxing Officer within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the sale of court fee stamps is undertaken, and the Taxing Officer shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
