GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The management of an irrigation system by a water user association by water user associations under the Bengal Irrigation Act, 1876, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Superintending Engineer, the Government of West Bengal, after careful examination, hereby orders that every water user association carrying on the management of an irrigation system by a water user association shall furnish Form A to the Ground Water Authority within fifteen days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every water user association carrying on the management of an irrigation system by a water user association shall make an application in Form A to the Ground Water Authority within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the management of an irrigation system by a water user association is undertaken, and the Ground Water Authority shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Commercial Taxes Department, Government of West Bengal.
