Chandigarh, dated the 4th April, 2008

GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The cultivation of hemp under licence by cultivators of hemp under the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Excise Guard, the Government of Punjab, after careful examination, hereby orders that every cultivator of hemp carrying on the cultivation of hemp under licence shall furnish Form H to the Collector within seven days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every cultivator of hemp carrying on the cultivation of hemp under licence shall make an application in Form H to the Collector within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the cultivation of hemp under licence is undertaken, and the Collector shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Punjab.
