Chennai, dated the 15th February, 2008

GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The employment of adolescents by employers of adolescents under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Woman Act, 2002, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Child Welfare Officer, the Government of Tamil Nadu, after careful examination, hereby orders that every employer of adolescents carrying on the employment of adolescents shall furnish Form I to the District Child Protection Unit within seven days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every employer of adolescents carrying on the employment of adolescents shall make an application in Form I to the District Child Protection Unit within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the employment of adolescents is undertaken, and the District Child Protection Unit shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
