GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The performance of marriage ceremonies by registered priests under the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Registrar of Births and Deaths, the Government of Maharashtra, after careful examination, hereby orders that every registered priest carrying on the performance of marriage ceremonies shall furnish Form II to the Maintenance Tribunal within sixty days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every registered priest carrying on the performance of marriage ceremonies shall make an application in Form II to the Maintenance Tribunal within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the performance of marriage ceremonies is undertaken, and the Maintenance Tribunal shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Maharashtra.
