GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land under the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Circle Officer, the Government of West Bengal, after careful examination, hereby orders that every owner of a well on Government land carrying on the sinking of a well on Government land shall furnish Form 8 to the Settlement Officer within fifteen days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a well on Government land carrying on the sinking of a well on Government land shall make an application in Form 8 to the Settlement Officer within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the sinking of a well on Government land is undertaken, and the Settlement Officer shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of West Bengal.
