Chennai, dated the 8th January, 2023

GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The discharge of effluent into a stream by person discharging effluent into a streams under the Tamil Nadu Groundwater (Development and Management) Act, 2003, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Assistant Engineer, the Government of Tamil Nadu, after careful examination, hereby orders that every person discharging effluent into a stream carrying on the discharge of effluent into a stream shall furnish Form E to the Canal Officer within fifteen days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person discharging effluent into a stream carrying on the discharge of effluent into a stream shall make an application in Form E to the Canal Officer within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the discharge of effluent into a stream is undertaken, and the Canal Officer shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
