GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The ownership of a protected monument by owners of a protected monument under the Maharashtra Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Tourist Officer, the Government of Maharashtra, after careful examination, hereby orders that every owner of a protected monument carrying on the ownership of a protected monument shall furnish Form VIII to the Heritage Committee within twenty-one days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a protected monument carrying on the ownership of a protected monument shall make an application in Form VIII to the Heritage Committee within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the ownership of a protected monument is undertaken, and the Heritage Committee shall dispose of it within twenty-one days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Environment Department, Government of Maharashtra.
