GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The engagement of apprentices by employers of apprentices under the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1962, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Labour Inspector, the Government of Karnataka, after careful examination, hereby orders that every employer of apprentices carrying on the engagement of apprentices shall furnish Form VII to the Licensing Officer within thirty days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every employer of apprentices carrying on the engagement of apprentices shall make an application in Form VII to the Licensing Officer within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the engagement of apprentices is undertaken, and the Licensing Officer shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Karnataka.
