Chennai, dated the 25th December, 2017

GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The recycling of ships by ship recyclers under the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board Act, 1995, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Engineer and Ship Surveyor, the Government of Tamil Nadu, after careful examination, hereby orders that every ship recycler carrying on the recycling of ships shall furnish Form 8 to the Port Authority within forty-five days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every ship recycler carrying on the recycling of ships shall make an application in Form 8 to the Port Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the recycling of ships is undertaken, and the Port Authority shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
