GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The placement of children for adoption by adoption agencies under the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Probation Officer, the Government of Maharashtra, after careful examination, hereby orders that every adoption agency carrying on the placement of children for adoption shall furnish Form III to the Maintenance Tribunal within sixty days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every adoption agency carrying on the placement of children for adoption shall make an application in Form III to the Maintenance Tribunal within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the placement of children for adoption is undertaken, and the Maintenance Tribunal shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra.
