GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The recruitment of seafarers by recruitments and placement agency for seafarers under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Engineer and Ship Surveyor, the Government of Gujarat, after careful examination, hereby orders that every recruitment and placement agency for seafarers carrying on the recruitment of seafarers shall furnish Form 8 to the Inland Waterways Authority within forty-five days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every recruitment and placement agency for seafarers carrying on the recruitment of seafarers shall make an application in Form 8 to the Inland Waterways Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the recruitment of seafarers is undertaken, and the Inland Waterways Authority shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Gujarat.
