GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The receipt of instruments in evidence by public officers under the Maharashtra Stamp Act, 1958, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Inspector of Stamps, the Government of Maharashtra, after careful examination, hereby orders that every public officer carrying on the receipt of instruments in evidence shall furnish Form A to the Superintendent of Stamps within forty-five days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every public officer carrying on the receipt of instruments in evidence shall make an application in Form A to the Superintendent of Stamps within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the receipt of instruments in evidence is undertaken, and the Superintendent of Stamps shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra.
