GOVERNMENT ORDER
Subject: The performance of marriage ceremonies by registered priests under the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998, regarding.
1. In the circumstances reported by the Maintenance Officer, the Government of Maharashtra, after careful examination, hereby orders that every registered priest carrying on the performance of marriage ceremonies shall furnish Form VI to the Registrar of Marriages within forty-five days.
2. The matter has been examined. Every registered priest carrying on the performance of marriage ceremonies shall make an application in Form VI to the Registrar of Marriages within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the performance of marriage ceremonies is undertaken, and the Registrar of Marriages shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Maharashtra.
