GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The arranging of marriages by marriage bureaus under the Tamil Nadu Registration of Marriages Act, 2009, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Conciliation Officer, the Government of Tamil Nadu, after careful examination, hereby orders that every marriage bureau carrying on the arranging of marriages shall furnish Form IV to the Registrar General within one hundred and twenty days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every marriage bureau carrying on the arranging of marriages shall make an application in Form IV to the Registrar General within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the arranging of marriages is undertaken, and the Registrar General shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
