Chennai, dated the 21st June, 2012

GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The slaughter of animals by keepers of a slaughter house under the Chennai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1919, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Licensing Officer, the Government of Tamil Nadu, after careful examination, hereby orders that every keeper of a slaughter house carrying on the slaughter of animals shall furnish Form G to the Corporation within fifteen days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of a slaughter house carrying on the slaughter of animals shall make an application in Form G to the Corporation within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the slaughter of animals is undertaken, and the Corporation shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
