Kolkata, dated the 12th September, 2009

GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The discharge of effluent into a stream by person discharging effluent into a streams under the Bengal Irrigation Act, 1876, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Superintending Engineer, the Government of West Bengal, after careful examination, hereby orders that every person discharging effluent into a stream carrying on the discharge of effluent into a stream shall furnish Form B to the Tribunal within fifteen days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person discharging effluent into a stream carrying on the discharge of effluent into a stream shall make an application in Form B to the Tribunal within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the discharge of effluent into a stream is undertaken, and the Tribunal shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of West Bengal.
