GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The management of a waqf by mutawallis under the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Conciliation Officer, the Government of Maharashtra, after careful examination, hereby orders that every mutawalli carrying on the management of a waqf shall furnish Form VIII to the Family Court within sixty days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every mutawalli carrying on the management of a waqf shall make an application in Form VIII to the Family Court within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the management of a waqf is undertaken, and the Family Court shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Maharashtra.
