Chennai, dated the 7th June, 2008

GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The construction of a building in a village by owners of a building in a village under the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Village Development Officer, the Government of Tamil Nadu, after careful examination, hereby orders that every owner of a building in a village carrying on the construction of a building in a village shall furnish Form 5 to the District Panchayat within fifteen days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a building in a village carrying on the construction of a building in a village shall make an application in Form 5 to the District Panchayat within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the construction of a building in a village is undertaken, and the District Panchayat shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
