GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The taking of a mortgage of agricultural land by mortgagees of agricultural land under the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Naib Tahsildar, the Government of West Bengal, after careful examination, hereby orders that every mortgagee of agricultural land carrying on the taking of a mortgage of agricultural land shall furnish Form 12 to the Collector within fifteen days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every mortgagee of agricultural land carrying on the taking of a mortgage of agricultural land shall make an application in Form 12 to the Collector within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the taking of a mortgage of agricultural land is undertaken, and the Collector shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Housing Department, Government of West Bengal.
