GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The solemnisation of marriages by registered priests under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Marriage Officer, the Government of Uttarakhand, after careful examination, hereby orders that every registered priest carrying on the solemnisation of marriages shall furnish Form II to the Registrar General within ninety days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every registered priest carrying on the solemnisation of marriages shall make an application in Form II to the Registrar General within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the solemnisation of marriages is undertaken, and the Registrar General shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
