In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Muslim Personal Law (Shariat) Application Act, 1937 (26 of 1937), the Central Government hereby directs that the powers exercisable by it under section 9 shall, subject to its control, also be exercisable by the Marriage Officer.
