GOVERNMENT RESOLUTION
Subject: The solemnisation of marriages by Marriage Officers under the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998, regarding.
1. In the circumstances reported by the Marriage Officer, the Government of Maharashtra, after careful examination, hereby orders that every Marriage Officer carrying on the solemnisation of marriages shall furnish Form II to the Government of Maharashtra within ninety days.
2. The matter has been examined. Every Marriage Officer carrying on the solemnisation of marriages shall make an application in Form II to the Government of Maharashtra within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the solemnisation of marriages is undertaken, and the Government of Maharashtra shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government resolution may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Maharashtra.
