GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The keeping of a lodging house by proprietors of a lodging house under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the officer in charge of a police station, the Government of Tamil Nadu, after careful examination, hereby orders that every proprietor of a lodging house carrying on the keeping of a lodging house shall furnish Form II to the District Magistrate within seven days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every proprietor of a lodging house carrying on the keeping of a lodging house shall make an application in Form II to the District Magistrate within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the keeping of a lodging house is undertaken, and the District Magistrate shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
