GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The operation of a ferry by operators of a ferry under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Secretary of the Gram Panchayat, the Government of West Bengal, after careful examination, hereby orders that every operator of a ferry carrying on the operation of a ferry shall furnish Form 1 to the Gram Panchayat within sixty days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a ferry carrying on the operation of a ferry shall make an application in Form 1 to the Gram Panchayat within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the operation of a ferry is undertaken, and the Gram Panchayat shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of West Bengal.
