GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The arranging of marriages by marriage bureaus under the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Act, 1997, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Marriage Officer, the Government of Karnataka, after careful examination, hereby orders that every marriage bureau carrying on the arranging of marriages shall furnish Form I to the Government of Karnataka within sixty days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every marriage bureau carrying on the arranging of marriages shall make an application in Form I to the Government of Karnataka within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the arranging of marriages is undertaken, and the Government of Karnataka shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Karnataka.
