GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The execution of works for a Panchayat by contractors engaged by a Panchayat under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Secretary of the Gram Panchayat, the Government of West Bengal, after careful examination, hereby orders that every contractor engaged by a Panchayat carrying on the execution of works for a Panchayat shall furnish Form 2 to the Gram Panchayat within thirty days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contractor engaged by a Panchayat carrying on the execution of works for a Panchayat shall make an application in Form 2 to the Gram Panchayat within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the execution of works for a Panchayat is undertaken, and the Gram Panchayat shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of West Bengal.
