GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The business of a shipping agent by shipping agents under the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board Act, 1995, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Principal Officer, the Government of Tamil Nadu, after careful examination, hereby orders that every shipping agent carrying on the business of a shipping agent shall furnish Form 2 to the Port Authority within ninety days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every shipping agent carrying on the business of a shipping agent shall make an application in Form 2 to the Port Authority within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the business of a shipping agent is undertaken, and the Port Authority shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
