GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: The carriage of goods by road by transport operators under the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1958, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the registering authority, the Government of Maharashtra, after careful examination, hereby orders that every transport operator carrying on the carriage of goods by road shall furnish Form 20 to the State Transport Authority within seven days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every transport operator carrying on the carriage of goods by road shall make an application in Form 20 to the State Transport Authority within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the carriage of goods by road is undertaken, and the State Transport Authority shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Maharashtra.
